Are you on about the metal dash rail, or the pretty rail cover?

If your talking about the bottom dash rail you can remove it. But once its removed the dash pannel will be sticking out roughly an inch in front of the bare metal, unless you modify it so it fits flush.

& If you mean the top dash rail there are 3 nuts holding it together, and will pull of once you have undone them, But watch out there maybe some rust lurking underneath!

i done this a cupple of days ago and i think you will find that its glued in place as my one would not come off in one pice its made from a type of foam and is glued hevley in the cnter where the switch panel is

it is glued, also the clutch and heater leads hold it inplace due to the switch panel being bolted on by to small bolts behind the rail, these are attached to the choke and heater leads, this means you have to disconect them from the engine bay. then feed them back in and reconect when you put the panel back.

not a hard job. had ours out in 15mins, but then i wanted the dash cover so was gentle so it didnt break.

Yeh, It's pretty hard to get them off in once piece as when you try to get it off the foam bends and folds in where the switch pannel is, Maybe just take your time if you want it to come off without any marks.

The bottom rail is held in by the chromey trim at the front of the rail and also the switch panel and heater. So you will have to remove these to remove the rail.

Paul.
