i was wondering if anyone haspictures of sportspack arches fited on their mini smoothed in and not smoothed in as the fibre glass ones i have are a pain to fit so was thinking of smoothing them in what are the problems other than the obvios possibility of the filler cracking i could do with pictures anyway to help me decide thank you

If they are already a pain to fit then smoothing/blending them in will not make the job any easier.

its not that they are a pain to fit its that the front panel and wing kink in along the seam so the arch fits fine apart from about 2 inches either side of the seam by the front indicator where there is a big gap

It will be very hard indeed to smooth arches in without the filler cracking/ paint flaking off in the future.

If your arches are not a good fit (like my miglia arches) then buy a sander or something and hold the arch against the body mark which bits prevent the rest of the arch fitting flush with the body and sand these high spots down to get a good fit.

My sportpacks are not a good fit - done by the previous owner - belended in and they are cracking up a good un. They arent blended very well either. Saying that - I do like the look - but it has to be perfect, to look spot on.

Gonna get these chopped off and fit carbon Miglia ones fitted - (and lowered)

Mine were sort of blended in but not with conventional filler- the stuff used was sort of like the silicone bathroom sealer and is flexible thus does not crack when one of the arches flexes or something! In my opinion, the sportspack arches look way better without the black rubber strip and blended so that the arches look like they are part of the car rather than just having been bolted on.

My arches are shown with the sideskirts as well in the attached pictures:

Constructive criticism.. I think you should fill the indents on the front arches where the front bumper's meant to go, and smooth the lip where the front bumper mounts on. That would look very tasty :) love the look of those arches tho! Can you just paint on top of the filler stuff? I thought the paint would crack as the sealant flexed...

Do you mean the silicon rubber stuff that was mentioned? Thats available at any DIY shop, B&Q etc, comes in a big tube. Use this and you'll have no problems with cracking at all, though I would see if you can get hold of some a similar colour as your car is you may have issues painting over it. The droblem you'll have using it is that it really needs to be shaped while wet as its difficult to do much once its dry, and its a bit of a skill getting it perfect, recommend you practice on something first.
