This is an ongoing project, and as I love to see a good looking engine bay, here goes:

Heres mine. Its had some blue hosing added around the cables (throttle, choke, heater etc) some polished head studs, new alternator and a clear engine sheild with polished brackets added since

LOVE that polished "Works" rocker cover... where'd that come from? I' looking to replace my rusty old one with something a bit different... And the blue CAI on the second one is different - who makes that?

Yup its just a painted metro item with stick on letters. Nope they didnt fall off (super glue lol)

Second engine bay CAI? I gather you mean induction kit?

This is made from a modified maestro carb inlet with some intercooler piping and a cheap £6,50 induction filter.

No expense spent er im mean spared

I love to modify minis but do so on a budget as its rarely possible to get a good return once you decide to start a new project.
Good things can be done with a roll of sticky back plastic and some fairy liquid bottles

Thats not a maestro turbo plenum, it's a standard maestro 1275 carb inlet pipe.

The plenum chamber on mine is a maestro/montego turbo plenum.

It's a cossie 2wd intercooler turned upside down.

sorry if this seems a daft question but if you make changes to your engine that dont effect performance, would it affect your insurance quote?

looking at his name i'd say it was a v8

yep, its a Rover V8 3.5 EFI, on an Austin Princess gear box, transversley mid mounted

I've only just put my engine in, was a 1098 now a 1293.

I still have a alot of wires to tidy up and hide and there are some bits I'm going to take off and clean, the weber and inlet is first on the list.

And looking at the tappet cover I'd say a Rover V8

Lol here's what mine was a couple of weeks ago, looks slightly tidier and nicer now but not much. Planning on giving it a bit of an overhaul in the next couple of days, also spent £40+ on some engine bay bling from minispares
