I'm sorry if this is in the wrong section. feel free to move it.

I read in Mini world about painting your engine. and it spoke of A plus Yellow. were all A plus engine yellow? and are all yellow mini engines A plus?

Thank you

hmmm, I thought that originally they were all bmc green, then changed to yellow for A serries, then red for A+ and then the latter injection ones were just black.

I'm not entirely sure though so don't hold me to it.

Cool, Cheers guys, it is a 998. How can you tell the difference between the standards, A series and A plus?

A+ from 1983 onwards I think, Guessworks has a list somewhere on here about decoding your engine number, should tell you all you need to know.

Ah good plan. I've had a look using the search function, but couldn't find anything. Does anybody know where it is or could point me towards it?

Cheers

Mines a 998cc A+ standard engine and is in what I think is the original factory yellow paint.

The way to tell the difference between a A and a A+ is how the dizzy is mounted. Normal A's are bolted and A+ fit differently but its hard to describe. Someone should be able to tell you what I'm on about in a better way then I am. I was shown this only last week.
