Hi all

Just spent the last 2 days taking the front bumper off my '00 MPI and am now considering removing the spots alltogether. However... will removing the spots cause me to foul my MOT?

Thanks

Mike

Nope front spots are not tested at MOT.

When you say removed the front bumper, have you removed the lip that it bolts through? This lip can't be left as it is and must be removed if you're not using a bumper. It's would be considered a sharp edge and would fail an MOT.

Yep thats been removed, although im not the best with filler so at the moment its looking a little bumpy. Going to spend a little longer working on it before I take it to the garage to get the rear done

They do need to be wired so you can turn them off - wire cutters will fix that quickly.

Rear fog needs to be mounted between the centre and offside of car,i was gonna run mine on the parcel shelf but a mate who does mot's said it would be mounted to high there.
so currently just under bumper in centre on mine.

I used this on my spi, and before people say it wont get through an MOT. It did every year for 7 years at various MOT stations. In fact the curent owner has just recently had an MOT and it sailed through.

It's one of those, it will not fail an MOT if you convert the reverse light to a fog, but it is illegal as it falls foul of the Road vehicle lighting regulations...

And yes you can mount the fog light on the passenger shelf...

Full details are to be found in the FAQ section. http://www.theminifo...?showtopic=6445
