Where is the heater valve on a mpi mini, its a 2001 cooper sport. The heater cable does not seem to be making any difference to the temperature! On my other mini, a 89 thirty, there is a valve in one of the hoses that goes to the heater matrix, it is up between the thermostat and the bulkhead. However this is not present on the mpi and i cannot find anything!!

Please help - just need to find the valve so i can see if it is working!!

It's on the heater matrix its self. There is a hot pipe from the engine and the adjuster sits on this.

It could be a simple as the clip has come off that retains it inplace.

As Mike says, the valve is under the dash, to the left of the heater. My valve was seized in one position, i just removed it and worked it manually a few times and it worked. See pictures:

My heater is always hot to touch also. Very annoying getting a warm leg on a 6 hour drive home in yesterdays heat! Does this mean my valve is fubar too? Why does my MPi have to be so much more complex!!!
