Don't bother with them, usually they are more trouble than they are worth as most are useless at making the change quicker,

In a nut shell no! Same as always you get what you pay for. The quickshift has a bad name because of all the cheap chinese copies out there that simply dont fit right or have problems with gear changes once they have been fitted.

Thats not to say you cant get one to work. I had a cheap one fitted before I put my mini back on the road and it wouldnt go into reverse. If it did it then wouldnt come out of reverse. Reason being that the ball on the end of of it was too large. I sanded the ball down to make it smaller and that seemed to do the trick and it worked ok but the damage in my mind was done so I bought a KAD one.

Its still knocking about in the garage if you want it for postage and some beer tokens?

It seems all the grief regarding these KAD copies seems to point directly to that ball on the end! Lately I've been thinking of having a replacement one made out of Delrin. I have a brand new quickshift copy still in the bag in my shed. I might look into that. Delrin is hard wearing but self lubricating....I use it alot for the bolts in my paintball markers.

as already stated dont bother, another worrying situation is the cheap sticks ability of going into whats called 'no mans land' leaving you stuck to find the correct gear

keep an eye out for a second hand kad one, thats what im trying to do

off topic but trail of dead, paintball marker? which type is it, i play tourney ball div 1 and 2 uk and always finding mini and paintball lovers a rare thing to find lol

Mines a cross-breed of KAD base and MiniSport shaft. Was a quick fix because a horizontal groove had worn in the locating pin slot making it bloody hard to find a gear, almost reminded me of the old magic wand gear stick :-

I have to say though that the combination works better than the original KAD one.

Just to point out that mines the original type, not the new fangled collar-lift type.

I love the quick-shift and its so much better than driving with the gearstick under my leg :D
