All,

I’m looking at getting this dished steering wheel from Rally Designs

http://www.rallydesi...c4js8kcodei8lq5

Does the steering wheel dish help with leg room and is 350mm a reasonable size? I think I have a 300mm Mountney leather wheel which does feel a bit small sometimes.

Also, are the normal Mountney & Mountney-M bosses the same?

Cheers

Dan

thats pritty much what i want really. does anyone know how much dish it has on it? as in how far it is from the boss to the steering wheel? im all leg and to sit comfy my seats near enough touching the rear seat. only problem is i can only just reach the steering wheel so ive had to move my seat forwards and its getting a bit tedious folding myself in and out of my car lol

that looks exactly like my OMP corsica wheel, the dish on it is 90mm, i'm 6ft 4" and theres no problem with legroom, just have to reach a bit further for the indicators/wipers :P love the feel of the suede, really grippy too!

it will help with knee room but if the dish is too big you will find your indicator and wiper stalks aren't just below the wheel rim with in finger reach

I had a deep dish wheel on my first mini. The front seats were positioned so far back, if you looked sideways you were looking out of the rear windows....!!!!

I also fitted 2 lowering brackets, one after the other, which made the wheel position much more comfortable. I had to brace the lower bracket to make sure there was no movement, but it was an awesome driving position once finished....!!

My wheel is virtually the same as this except that its vinyl not suede, and both me and my dad are all leg but it does give a lot more leg room. However what bungle says is true, the indicator stalks are more of a stretch to get at. Heres a picture of me in mine whith the seat almost right back and as you can see my legs are fine (they are over to the right a bit but thats because i wasnt sitting in the car properly lol)

EDIT: mine is only 330mm not 350

I like the blue. What make is your wheel the-green-monkey?
Does anyone find that the suede wheels dry out their hands? I love the look of them but im not keen on feeling like all the moisture is being sucked out of my body though my finger tips!
I have been looking at dished wheels for a while, If I can get one that fits my snap off Mountney-M boss then I will be very happy!

As long as the PCD on the mounting holes of the boss are 70mm then that wheel will fit, :P

ok, so if my current mountney boss has a PCD of 70mm, the wheel should fit? sounds like a good option if it gives some more leg room, I need to chop a section out the rear bin to get the seat back further which is a bit of a pain
