Hi all.

Wondering if you can help me. I've got some gold coloured 6x10 Minilites with what seems to be square weights on the inside of the rim. It says on the rim "Made in the UK". However, the wheels have seen better days, and I was wondering if anyone knows where I can get more of them. (not the cheap overseas rubbish).

If anyone is puzzled on what i'm on about. I can get a photo up tomorrow.

Thanks in advance

Proper 'Minilites' (which is the brand name, rather than wheel style) are still made in UK

ahh I see.

thanks for the link Pooky.

I have just read on the website that there were competition inserts on the wheels. Are these the square weighty things I was on about?

I myself would guess that the weights were added when the wheel has been balanced with a tyre

You normally get it done when you get new tyres fitted at a garage, its not only a race thing. They stick your wheels on a balancing machine and just put weights on where needed, the weights come in different weights too(normalcy engraved on them)

Balancing wheels is a very necessary procedure for EVERY car on the road, certainly not limited to race use. Whenever new tyres are fitted to any wheels they are balanced and an exact amount of weight added to an exact part of the wheel so as to make it balanced. This means you don't get any nasty juddering from the wheels as you're driving.
