Twin Side Exit Exhausts On An Estate

I put this in the styling section as its more of a styling issue that a technical issue but feel free to move if it is better suited somewhere else.
Tryin to think back to the estate i had a couple of years ago, i know you cant fit a centre exit exhaust due to the petrol tank being at the back in the way so it has to be a side exit, ive been looking at the playmini? exhausts that split into 2 and have a bit sticking out at either side.... would the fuel pipe be in the way (that runs to the tank when filling up at the garage) or is there enough room to have an exhaust sticking out from that side?

The tank goes right up to the RH side of the car so no room for an exhaust pipe there,

Also that pipe is just a centre exit type with long tailpipes fitted. The rear box would still be fouling on the tank as it's in the centre.
