Hi there...i'm after a dashboard but after lots of searching i dont like anything i've seen, so it looks like a bespoke one is needed

What i need to know is this .... when using say a dash from a KA how do i get the speedo to read correctly, now i've heard that the cable will need to be custom( one mini end the other ford end) but its the reading i'm stuck with

Any help would be great

Colin

i have just quite literally fitted mine mate  from my experience its all about what and how much you want to keep of the original item and then when you decide that you have to think of where everything will go, heater, clocks, choke, heater cable, rocker switches and all the rest i have missed out. its deffinately a head scratcher but well worth it in the end. if you need any more help just ask.

hope this helps

I had dolomite/jag clocks in an old dash of mine, they'd look funny in a KA dash though.

Heres a picture of them anyway.

Hawxie thats what i needed to hear, some one who has done it, just a couple of questions

1 where did you cut yours,
2 did you cut the back of the dash to get it to sit closer to the windscreen
3 did you use te original mountings
4 have you got any photos

thanks Colin

i have sent you a msg thing last night, wel i think i did any ways. :-
you have to cut it from the back for clearence issues with the gear stick but thats where you have to be careful because although you can cut alot out the back you still have to watch all the other funny shaped stuff at the back of it.
i dont know how to put pictures on here it sdoin my nut in :errr:

by the way the speedo cable fits the ka dials but i couldnt figure out the wiring for the rest of the stuff so went down what i thought the easy way and made it fit the original dials.

h4wxie outstanding.... thats wicked mate really impressed well done, that helps a lot, would i be right in thinking that you narrowed the dash from each side rather than cutting down the middle and then joining again? if i get stuck can i pm you

Thanks Colin
