Correct me if I'm wrong but...

If I was to get this

http://minisport.com...t_Cooper_S.html

and the "Cooper S/ GT Drive Flange - 7.5" disc type, 10" wheels"

http://minisport.com...ve_Flanges.html

That would give me everything I'ed need to convert from 12" to 10" 4 pot?

Cheers and Cheers!

If you are going with Mini Sport calipers you would be better off using their 7.9" size, then you wouldn't need to use new flanges and would have the benefit of larger discs. What wheels are you using? 7.9" discs fit under nearly all 10" rims. They are standard 8.4" discs machined down.

The car is setup for 12" wheels, least it was...

I need to convert to 10" wheels and 4 pots. I've allready got the wheels, their 6x10 Ultra lite deep dish.

BUMP!

Anyone wish to elaborate on 7.9" disks? I cant see how I can run 10" wheels without changing the drive flanges.

Also cant seem to find any mention of 7.9" disks either...

Dan's right, but check with Minisport that their 7.9" brakes fit under the wheels you plan to use. I'm fairly certain they will though.

So I wont need to change the drive flanges even tho the car had 12" wheels on it?

What calipers would you use with the 7.9" disks? At a guess I would say the Cooper S ones? because if I used the others it would surely fowl the wheel?

Mini Sport do 3 size's of alloy callipers, 7.5 which fit onto the cooper s type hub and drive flange and use the cooper s disc's, and also they make vented/non vented 7.9 callipers, these use the original 12" hub assembly and drive flange and just use a turned down disc (8.4" solid/vented) which fit's in the same was as the stock disc's do originally and also they make 8.4" (just finished the 3 sets of samples) at the moment these are just in vented but im unsure whether these are going to be also available in solid disc form......

The 7.9 callipers shouldnt foul on the callipers as they have a machined edge to keep them as far away from the wheel as possible but do check with them before placing your order.

Dont let mambas put you off... Its mamba's that dont fit over many brake setups, not the other way round. Mamba's are well known for it.

If you want Photo's of Minisport 7.9" 4 pots fitted I can get some tommorrow in the daylight. I am running mini special wheels but am fairly sure superlites will fit,

I sold my mamba's as I knew they would be a problem to fit over the 4 pots, KAD do a template on their website you can use to check for their calipers.

If you want pic's of any of the callipers in various colours feel free to give me a shout more than willing to take a few for you to choose over, personally i would either go for titanium or red but the green i must admit is growing on me....I also like the new orange we have had the 8.4 samples done in althoug personally it looks more like a bronze colour, similar infact too the KAD ones....

The answer depends on what 4pots you have on the car.

If you have metro 4 pots you will likely need new disks, calipers and possibly drive flanges (if they are currently metro vented disks)

If you have MiniSport or simmilar 8.4" 4 pots then you will still need new calipers and disks.

It is not the size of the disks that stop you fitting 10" wheels but the caliper, as they sit round the disk and stick out more.

each type of caliper (8.4" 7.9" or 7.5" diameter disk) is made differently to suit each disk size, on mini's it is not possible (safely) to modify or interchange calipers between disk sizes.
