i'm not being stupid am i but it is possible for me to fit a mk1 grille on a mk3 right? :)

Yep.... many, many people do it... the only modification you need to do is take the lip off of the front of your bonnet.... or just buy a new Mk1 style one.

yeh, thinking about a mk1 bonnet, grille and tash (in black).

i put a mk1 grille on my mk4, like already said you need to drill the welds off the lip of the bonnet, you cannot fit an actual mk1 bonnet as they are different. but you can get mk1 style bonnets as previously said. its much cheaper to just take the lip off

Yup thats exaclty what my plans are aswell, sein as the lip on my bonnet is rotten lol. although if you wanted a new bonnet go to huddersfield spares and they sell the late style mini bonnet without lip for £79.

You can also get a Heritage bonnet for the van & pick-up which has no lip and the hinges in the correct place for later cars - ALA8430, which is only a little more money than the non-gen ones (£90 as opposed to around £80). If you are a TMF+ member, the discount on the bonnet from Moss brings it back down to £81.
