CharlieBrown a forum Admin is taking part in the Mongol Rally! A 10,000 mile trip from the UK to the capital of Mongolia to raise money for Charity. He is doing the event representing www.theminiforum.co.uk. He started the rally Saturday, 24 July 2010 and can be tracked via a link further down the page. His first night lead him to camping in a wood as hotels and campsites were too expensive! Nothing like saving the pennys
The chosen vehicle for this trip is his old trusty 998cc Mini 30 which has taken him to both Italy and Germany raising money for the National Children’s Hospice (NCH) and Macmillan Cancer Support.

Whilst at Uni I was lucky enough to get my Dad's mini that he had for a few years. The mini bug then caught on in a big way. I became involved in a mini forum (www.theminiforum.co.uk) and slowly learnt a bit more about this great little car and at the same time made some friends along the way. My first Charity trip in the mini took me to Italy on an organised event called the Italian Job (www.italianjob.com). This was a trip in the north of Italy and took in some of scenes from the great film. I did this trip with my twin brother and we manage to raise 1,000 pounds for the National Children’s Hospital (NCH). About this time I became aware of a Charity event like no other that minis had been taking part in. The trip was called the Mongol Rally. This event sparked my interest and I knew one day I had to take part in the event and in a mini! I then became more involved in TheMiniForum and became a staff member. This lead me to assist with organising our own Charity trip which took from Brands Hatch to the mighty Nürburgring. I took part in this trip a total of 4 times and raised money for Macmillan Cancer Support. In 2006 I had the opportunity to help my cousin move house....from Boston to Seattle, how could I refuse. So off I set and an amazing journey taking in some amazing sights along the way. Adventure by car was definately the way to go. In 2008 I then sold the mini to make room for a mini I was building. A year went buy and the opportunity to take part in the rally became a reality, work had given me the OK to take the time off to go on the rally. The day I was informed of this I found out my old mini was for sale, it seemed too good to be true so I parted with some of my hard earned cash and a vehicle for the rally was found. PLEASE SUPPORT HIM ON THIS RALLY!He is raising all he can for the Mini Forums unofficial charity so if you can help him with this and give what you can that would be amazing. www.justgiving.com/theminiforum2mongolia-Macmillan Click this link to follow his trip and read his daily Reports of his travels www.mongolrally10.theadventurists.com/index.php?mode=teamwebsites&teamid=3537 Click here for the forum topic on this event and post your support for him. www.theminiforum.co.uk/forums/index.php?showtopic=161386 Good luck Charlie!
