Mongol Rally By Team TMF! PDF
Written by marksmini

www.mongolrally.theadventurists.com

CharlieBrown a forum Admin is taking part in the Mongol Rally! A 10,000 mile trip from the UK to the capital of Mongolia to raise money for Charity. He is doing the event representing www.theminiforum.co.uk. He started the rally Saturday, 24 July 2010 and can be tracked via a link further down the page. His first night lead him to camping in a wood as hotels and campsites were too expensive! Nothing like saving the pennys Smile

The chosen vehicle for this trip is his old trusty 998cc Mini 30 which has taken him to both Italy and Germany raising money for the National Children’s Hospice (NCH) and Macmillan Cancer Support.

Statment from Charlie:
My love of minis and indeed adventure started many years ago. Whilst at Uni I was lucky enough to get my Dad's mini that he had for a few years. The mini bug then caught on in a big way. I became involved in a mini forum (www.theminiforum.co.uk) and slowly learnt a bit more about this great little car and at the same time made some friends along the way.

My first Charity trip in the mini took me to Italy on an organised event called the Italian Job (www.italianjob.com). This was a trip in the north of Italy and took in some of scenes from the great film. I did this trip with my twin brother and we manage to raise 1,000 pounds for the National Children’s Hospital (NCH). About this time I became aware of a Charity event like no other that minis had been taking part in. The trip was called the Mongol Rally. This event sparked my interest and I knew one day I had to take part in the event and in a mini!

I then became more involved in TheMiniForum and became a staff member. This lead me to assist with organising our own Charity trip which took from Brands Hatch to the mighty Nürburgring. I took part in this trip a total of 4 times and raised money for Macmillan Cancer Support.

In 2006 I had the opportunity to help my cousin move house....from Boston to Seattle, how could I refuse. So off I set and an amazing journey taking in some amazing sights along the way. Adventure by car was definately the way to go.

In 2008 I then sold the mini to make room for a mini I was building. A year went buy and the opportunity to take part in the rally became a reality, work had given me the OK to take the time off to go on the rally. The day I was informed of this I found out my old mini was for sale, it seemed too good to be true so I parted with some of my hard earned cash and a vehicle for the rally was found.

PLEASE SUPPORT HIM ON THIS RALLY!

He is raising all he can for the Mini Forums unofficial charity so if you can help him with this and give what you can that would be amazing.

L2B 2010 TMF MASS BONNET SIGN - SAT 15TH & SUN 16TH MAY PDF
Written by Verns_Playmate

Following on from last years success the TMF team are once again helping out a worthwhile charity with a mass bonnet sign to take place during the weekend of the London to Brighton mini run 2010.

This year's charity is Help for Heroes, a worthwhile charity helping our armed forces on their return to the U.K. from operations, as a serving member of the RAF I can't think of a more fitting charity for TMF to support.

Myself and Charlotte ( mini_gurl 84 ) have purchased a new mk3 mini bonnet. We will be asking as many TMF members as possible to come and sign it, it will be taken for a layer of clear coat and auctioned off with all proceeds going to Help for Heroes.

The bonnet will be available for signing at Crystal Palace on Sat 15th May and at Madeira Drive Brighton Sun 16th May - keep a look out for the Mini Forum banner!

Here is your chance to show your appreciation for our armed forces, for any further information please send me a private message on the forums.

Many thanks,

Dan ( the.stroker )

Those art guys at Mini Magazine have put together these two fantastic images to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Mini next year. Featuring both the first and last Minis ever to roll off the production line, the images are the perfect way to remind you of all the festivities coming up next year, or simply sit on your computer as a homage to the little car that has spanned generations, styles, fads, governments and regulations!

Thanks to Daz Bourne for putting together the two great graphics, and to Craig at Mini Mag for supplying the images to TMF.

The Nutters return from the Nurburgring! PDF
Written by Jammy_basturd

Well what a trip that was! Amongst our midst we had a plethora of Minis, a number of retro BMW's, a very cool Vauxhall Cavalier with a 16v red top, a Ford Granada Limo, an immensely cool Renault 5 Gordini turbo, the VW Scirocco, a TVR Cerbera, a Triumph Dolomite and a few Pug 205 GTI's to name but a few! It was quite a group to take on the French and Belgium pot-holed roads, the twisty German mountain roads and the Green Hell that is the Nurburgring, but we did, and most of us returned unscathed.
